Songs about His Name
Just as lovers love to say the name of their beloved, so we love to say and sing the name of Jesus. We sing His name back to Him in praise for all that He has done, but we also sing about His name. Here are some favorites for you to enjoy: "At the Name of Jesus Every Kneww Shall Bow", "Jesus, You're the Sweetest Name of All", "Jesus, Name Above All Names", "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name", "There's Something about that Name", and The Name of Jesus (Is a Refuge)."
At the Name of Jesus Every Knee Shall Bow
Caroline M. Noel (1870)
Performed by Cardiff Festival Choir
1 At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow,
every tongue confess him King of glory now;
'tis the Father's pleasure we should call him Lord,
who from the beginning was the mighty Word.
2 At his voice creation sprang at once to sight:
all the angel faces, all the hosts of light,
thrones and dominations, stars upon their way,
all the heavenly orders in their great array.
3 Humbled for a season, to receive a name
from the lips of sinners, unto whom he came;
faithfully he bore it spotless to the last,
brought it back victorious when from death he passed;
4 bore it up triumphant, with its human light,
through all ranks of creatures, to the central height,
to the throne of Godhead, to the Father's breast,
filled it with the glory of that perfect rest.
5 In your hearts enthrone him; there let him subdue
all that is not holy, all that is not true.
Look to him, your Savior, in temptations' hour;
let his will enfold you in its light and power.
6 Christians, this Lord Jesus shall return again,
with his Father's glory o'er the earth to reign;
for all wreaths of empire meet upon his brow,
and our hearts confess him King of glory now.
Jesus, You’re the Sweetest Name of All
Tommy Coomes, published 1980; Scripture: Acts 4:12
Performed by the Maranatha Singers
Jesus, You're the sweetest name of all
Jesus, You always hear me when I call
Oh, Jesus, You pick me up each time I fall
You're the sweetest, sweetest name of all
Jesus, how I love to praise Your name
Jesus, you're still the first, the last, the same
Oh, Jesus, You died and took away my shame
You're the sweetest, sweetest name of all
Jesus, You're the soon and coming King
Jesus, we need the love that You can bring
Oh, Jesus, we lift our voices up and sing
You're the sweetest, sweetest name of all

All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name
Edward Perronet (1780)
Performed by Paul Baloche
1 All hail the power of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
2 O seed of Israel's chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
There's Something about That Name
Bill Gaither (1970)
Performed by Bill and Gloria Gaither
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Savior, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away
But there's something about that name.
The Name of Jesus (Is a Refuge)
Christ Tomlin (2010)
Performed by Chris Tomlin
The name of Jesus is a refuge
A shelter from the storm, a help to those who call
The name of Jesus is a fortress
A saving place to run, a hope unshakeable
When we fall You are the Savior, when we call You are the answer
There is power in Your name, there is power in Your name
In the name of Jesus
There is life and healing
Chains are broken in Your name
Every knee will bow down and our hearts will cry out
Songs of freedom in Your name, oh, in Your name
Bring salvation, bring Your Kingdom
Let all that You have made bring glory to Your name
When we fall you are the Savior, when we call You are the answer
There is power in Your name, there is power in Your name

Scriptures on His Name With any important contract we would be wise to check the fine print for it is there that the guarantees and disclaimers are carefully spelled out. God’s Word has been extremely carefully written, among other things so that we will know what He is promising to us and extending to us by His grace. In terms of our equipping for life and ministry, He apparently wants us to be absolutely convinced that there is wonder-working power in the name of Jesus: you can bet your life on God’s Word! Nevertheless, take care for with the power will come persection. That's also in the "fine print."
Our Great High Priest Access and Intercession flow from the ascension of our Great High Priest to the Throne of Grace. We need both! Let the sight of these heavenly realities establish you.
